Over the past couple years, I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a more formal UX program, but kept talking myself out of it because they can be pricey. I keep telling myself that I can do self-paced programs for free – and while I’ve tried – I’m not consistent enough to make any significant progress even if I like the material.
I need accountability! I wish I could be disciplined enough to do online programs on my own, but I really struggle with the lacks-a-daisy timing of it all. And if I have questions, I can’t really get help right away, if at all. So then it doesn’t seem to be all that beneficial.
So this week I decided to just go for it. In the spirit of being intentional – I enrolled in the first of six courses for a UX Certificate that’ll start in April. And it’s a live online course so I can follow along in real-time. I’m excited, anxious, a little proud and a little scared, but I’m gonna do it anyway.
